Fever and breathing problems may mean a serious respiratory infection is present. Symptoms may include:

  • Difficulty breathing.
  • Wheezing.
  • Barking cough.
  • Drooling and not being able to swallow.
  • Sore throat or hoarse voice, or a feeling of swelling in the throat.
  • Rapid breathing.

If you have a fever and signs of a serious respiratory infection, seek immediate medical care.
