Urodynamic studies are a group of tests that determineshow the nervous system affects the filling and emptying of the bladder. Thetests may be done for a person who has urine leakage or a weak stream whenurinating.

There is no special preparation for most of these tests. However, one test requires the person to avoid urinating for several hoursbefore the test is done.
