Male sexual problems Some men who have erection problems caused by diabetic neuropathy may find injections, implants, or pump devices helpful. Sildenafil (Viagra) also may be taken to improve erections; however, it should not be taken by people with heart problems. Talk with your health professional before taking this medication. For more information, see the topic Erection Problems.

Female sexual problems Diabetic neuropathy may cause vaginal dryness in some women. Nonprescription lubricants (such as K-Y Jelly or Astroglide) and estrogen creams can increase vaginal lubrication and make sex more enjoyable.
