What Increases Your Risk
Factors that can increase your risk of developing prostatitis include:
- A recent urinary tract infection (UTI).
- Insertion of a urinary catheter or having a cystoscopy.
- Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
- Injury, such as from riding a bicycle or horse.
