The ABCD's are important. But their is a 5th sign and that is CHANGE. "Moles" that suddenly appear or suddenly change. Keep an eye on these, too.

little known fact that 2 sunscreens wee taken off the market for actually CAUSING skin cancer, the answer isnt drowning your skin in solvents, go ahead though if you want. Inheriting diseases from ancestors is horsehit, its becasue multi generation families in the same house have the same bad habits.

interesting...however the article failed to talk about covering up, especially during the middle part of the day, and with daylight savings time, that comes later in the day. I have very fair skin and rarely does the sun see anything but my face and hands, when out in the sun. Also, I wear a good pair of presciption sunglasses that helps too....thank you...

If you have thinning hair is there a spray that can be sprayed on the scalp to prevent burning?

I was recently diagnosed with Melanoma. Luckily, it was caught very early, and after 2 surgeries, I have clean margins. Mine was from a mole that I had had my whole life. I decided that I should probably have it checked out...and thank God I did...my situation could have been completely different if I hadn't gotten it removed. My doctors weren't even concerned with the mole when I had it looked at, but it was rather large and I just wanted to have it removed. Never hesitate to have your doctor look at suspicious spots. My ob/gyn is the one that suggested I have it looked at. She saved my life! Check yourself for irregular spots on your skin frequently, and NEVER hesitate having anything checked out. If I can do anything to help someone in the future by encouraging them to have things checked out, then I feel like I have made a big accomplishment. Because of my diagnosis, many of my family members have been to a dermatologist recently! Many of them are having certain spots removed!

I just had skin cancer removed it is a scary thing I tanned alot and now no more. there are other ways like the spay tan is great and not a risk for cancer.

I'm topic sensative. They have already cut one basil cell booger from me. It' really little suprise because as a kid, I lived in the sun and my generation thought a deep tan was just right. We were dumb in those days.
