Hi, I am 25+ and undergone septoplasty for sinus 3 years ago. I had complaints of persistent heaviness in the head and severe nose block. Now, even after surgery, I am having the same problem. during my school days, I had a petty fight with my friend and in the process, I was strangled in my neck for almost 5 mins. Immediately, i started having these complaints. Kindly advice as to what kind of remedy I need to take.

I would just like to say that antihistamines are most effective when taken prophylactically and have very limited effectiveness in reversing symptoms. They are best when used 2-3 weeks before allergy symptoms.

Diphenhydramine, and other sedating Antihistamines trigger Restless Leg Syndrome in me. So, I am limited as to the allergy relief I can use. As I grew older, other drugs that affect the Central Nervous System gave the same result, and I now must take Gabapentin to suppress the Restless Leg Syndrome.

frequent application of mustard oil in both the nostrils is an easy way out to get relief from the dryness of nostrils that accompanies sinusitis.

I have found that dairy products of any kind, except butter, cause mucus to increase. I changed to Goat Milk and it got better. I also wash the sinus out with salt water in a little pot.
