    Driving home on my mountain road this evening, I resisted the urge to make a call on my cell phone when I saw a man on a bike. I thought passing bicycle on road at sunset and cell phone not good combination. As I cautiously passed him I realized HE was talking on a cell phone.{!!!}

    Thanks Dave. This article confirms I'm doing something right !!! LOL!!! It is not always easy being different from the majority of the population. When you step back and see the big picture it is easy to see what all these people are doing and what is happening.I have seen people send a text message to another person who is in the same house and only about 50 feet away!!! That is rediculous !!! Modern technology has it's advantages but it also has it's consequences. I have a cell phone and it comes in handy alot.The best feature is voicemail, LOL!!! I will return the call because all calls are important to me. I can't drop everything to answer the phone every time though. I have a friend who loves it when they are in the mountains and there is no service. LOLOLOL!!!!

    David thumbs up! I am so tired of trying to have a conversation with someone and they are looking to see if a text is coming in, or if they are so bold as to not shut off the phone when we are at lunch, the ringing o' the ringing. Don't get me wrong i love texting because the person can look at the message when they have time and then can respond to you, or if you just want to tell someone you love them, and you are at work. But the Present Moment is THE PLACE TO BE! Setting your mind free is the key..I read the Likeability Factor and was enlightened a bit from it, although i was already practicing many of the ideas. Being present definitely makes us better lovers, as we can get lost in the person, not lost in the daily grind! So I guess from all of this my vote is BE THERE, not lost in some other upcoming ring or email. :-)

    Hi Traceofanaszi! I am goig to agree with you, modern technology definitely has its advanatages, but sometimes it can become a monkey! Yes Voice Mail is good...allows for the other to take time to focus when its possible rather than interrupt a precious moment. Take care..keep on smiling!!

    Hmmm... 20 years ago it was the TV; 12 years ago it was the computer; 6 years ago it was Playstation... These days it's cell phones and blackberries. More ways in more places for people to not deal with each other face-to-face. I even dislike call waiting! It's so annoying to be put on hold even for a miniute because a friend just can't miss that call, even though they have voice mail. Very few people have my cell phone number, and I know how NOT to answer it, LOL! I guess that's why I love getting out into the woods and on the water: no TV, phone, computer... you talk to each other, or to the animals if you're alone, or yourself - and it's all face-to-face!

    Hi irelandh17.....and to WOM & WWW too !!! I think we all agree that life with all the TV's, computers, cell phones, ect. has a negative affect on us but we aren't going to toss everything and go back to living without electricity and so forth either. Moderation is key with anything. People can be very selfish and rude with their cell phones around others. A myth comes to mind about modern conveinences and how none of them are attained without having to pay for them. In other words ...there is a price to pay for these things, sometimes the fee is alot more than we thought it was going to be. The myth is " The Handless Maiden " I read it in one of Robert Johnsons books a long time ago. It about a miner who makes a deal with the devil. The devil comes to him with a proposition to make the miners work effortless compared to before but the fee is not as the miner assumed. Good myth. All myths can teach us important things that stand the test of time. Joseph Campbell pointed this out very well. I limit my use of all these things. I have been told that keeping a Hymalayan ( sp ? ) Rock Salt Crystal is good thing to offset the energy produced by computers, TV's, ect. I keep one by my computer. It is like a night light sort of....LOL!!! Very decorative too. Gotta stay balanced !!!! I agree with WWW in that getting out in the woods is good for us. Being one with nature is good for our Souls !!! Take care everyone !!!

    Biggest bull crap I ever read on here. This write knows nothing at all on love. Read your Bible mate - it tells you exactly what love is. Stop listening to mans ideas of this and that and start listening to what God has to say for a change and you might learn something.
