who in this time of economic recession can really afford to still be eating out/buying junk food/takeaways 4 times a week? it there are, then they deserve to battle with their weight! i am finding it more and more difficult to justify that spur of the moment burger and fries with soda and seeing the benefit in buying groceries and preparing fresh meals from scratch. all it takes is a little planning ahead of time.

It seems that most "dieting practices" referred to here are eating disorders. Perhaps it's not best to categorize that with routine dieting.

I think this article is common sense.....achieving weight loss through the use of the methods described above is counter-intuitive....afterall, most people lose weight to look good, feel good, and improve their health....these methods result in none of those goals....The bottom line line is there is no substitute for a proper low calorie, yet nutrient dense diet coupled with exercise.....my mother always told me that "a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".....

At the end I was expecting to read about a healthy diet method but this was not the case.

Thanks alot for showing me that what i'm doing to my body is wrong...I'm hooked on laxatives and it pains my stomach but, it helps me lose the weight (or water as my BF says)..I guess its safe to say i've tried everything, I through up, took laxatives and starved myself...I hope that other women and young girls can learn from what u've said..IT REALLY IS DAMGEROUS!!!! Thanks again.

I just began a new exercise regimen a few weeks ago and am eating right. It seems strange spending this time and energy on myself but I am already feeling the positive results.
