I worried over this issue for weeks, finally going to the doctor because of pain in my breast. The doctor said that rarely is pain associated with breast cancer. I found that I had fibrocystic breasts and nothing to be concerned about. Go to the doctor and relieve the anxiety!

I felt a bb size lump last year, waited a month because I knew I had an appointment. The doctor did not feel it, so I put her finger on it..it wasn't really felt on the breast, more like the chest wall. Bottom line, I had a sonogram, it was biopsied and it was stage one cancer. THANK GOODNESS I did not dismiss it. I have had a lumpectomy and radiation (no chemo) and my prognosis is GREAT!

I can't say enough for the importance of BSE. I found a lump in my right breast in December, but wasn't sure about whether it was anything new or not. Then I noticed "puckering" when I looked at myself in the mirror. Biopsy confirmed it was a 2 cm invasive ductal carcinoma. I will have to have a mastectomy but the prognosis is good---and I found this lump myself!!!! Even my doctor missed it until I pointed it out.
