this is no good for me since I cant exercise due to stiff legs and sore back. I do stretches some days and with all the pain I suffer, is all I can manage. I also have a slow metabolism. I only drink water, im restricted as to what I eat due to medications, and cant eat all day long.

These are some great points. I would add that people also need to develop skills in the area of the psychology behind overeating. Most people know that to lose weight you need to eat well and exercise, but this knowledge isn't enough. I just finished a great program called Appetite Right that helped

I've been doing a program called 'Naturally Slim' which teaches you the eating habits and thought processes of those people that are - naturally slim. It is very enlightening and working. I've lost 15kg so far in 8 weeks and it is changing my whole lifestyle and it just doesn't seem like dieting.

Ive been an overweight fatbastard for most of my life. I have been understandably picked on about my waddle and my gyrating bubble butt. I have overpowering body odour and greasy hair. The weight loss porgram offered above doesnt work. I tried it for 2 weeks and put on an extra 3kg. Im a happy pig.

The commentary was a nice read, but it's not the way to start a weight loss program. I say this having lost 185 lbs in just under two years despite medical conditions that initially caused the weight gain and conditions that prevented me from exercising like most other people do. The biggest step to losing weight is realizing that you do have a weight problem. I'm talking about a true weight issue and not one that is the product of a disorder or you have to loss three pounds to fit into a dress or pair of pants. After that then you need to have the determiniation to do something about it, actually get up off the couch, understand that it's not going to happen overnight, that it takes time and committment, and, another biggie, consult a physician and have him/her monitor your weight loss. Sure you have to change your eating and exercise habits as well, but that doesn't mean dieting, which is only going to get you temporary results, or having a diet coke rather than a regular coke with that super sized meal you ordered. Not every weight loss program out there is fundementally safe or sound and more often than not can cause more harm than good. This one has some nice ideas, but not one that I'd suggest overall. One final thought. For the person that said that he/she can't exercise because of stiffness and pain. Yes, you can. Workout in a pool. You'll find that such exercises allow for a fuller range of motion, more resistance without the massive strain of typical exercises, and a near weightlessness environment to train in. Yes, there's more and you'll need to research it as well as check with your physician.
