Ohhhh yes!!! It really does work for me... no doubt about it!!! I have a joint disease that affects every joint in my body and the Glucosomine/Chond.. combo has helped me a great deal, especially with my knees and I also think it has helped my shoulder joints. My X-rays are proof that it rebuilds cartilidge in the knees (unless there was a minor miracle at work at the same time that I started taking it!! LOL)

There's a great side effect/benefit to this supplement... It repairs the skin cells since they are also connective tissue. I have good skin and I know it is partly due to that... as I have/had a dermatologist in the family who told me it restores skin cells and was being studied for those purposes and would some day be in our skin care products. That was years ago, and now I see that it is in many topical products.. Oil of Olay has one such product as does Dr. Murad.

It has definitely helped me and I recommend it to anyone especially with knee trouble. I used it after a skiing accident and it healed very well, and again when I twisted my knee in a near fall. I don't think of it as a pain reliever though, usually pain medicine is required with these supplements.

200 mg. daily of Motrin (ibuprofen) helps me the most. More than anything else I've tried including Celebrex, Glucosamine/Chondroiton, Aleve, and GMC Tri-Flex which has G/C plus MSM & that new hyuralonic (sp?) acid.

I have been taking G&C for several years. I have found that the most effect is gained with the "triple strength" dosage. I take one tablet in the morning and one at night after dinner. My joint discomfort has reduced noticeably as has joint "creakyness". I tried G&C with MSM but had to stop. I became nauseous and felt ill after taking it. I suspect some sort of reaction with the MSM. I have had no issues with G&C though. My wife tried G&C but due to shellfish sensitivty had to stop taking it. Read the lable carefully. Shellfish is a prime source in the manufacture of G&C.

I spoke with a personal Trainer about the use of G&C and he mentioned that water intake must be 64oz and above with a limit at 100 oz to get the the best response from the use of the supplements. I was able to cut back from 3 tablets to one in the morning and one at night.

At age 56 I was limping so badly that my co-workers would question whether I was all right. I was anticipating hip replacement. Now taking glucosamine chondroitin supplements every day, at the age of 60 I no longer have any pain and no longer limp and don't think I'll ever need a hip replacement. I have no doubt about the value of this supplement for joint pain.

Have used gluc/chon/msm in combination with Zyflamend for years with great relief for joints and overall pain. Concerned now if any of these have effect on blood sugar as well as cholesterol readings. Any thoughts???

Forgot to include this thought to previous listing. Have been told by PCP to take a baby asprin now since blood numbers are running higher. Glucosamine (taking 1500 mg/day) and MSM (taking 4-6 tsp./day)seem to have reports of both being a "blood thinner." Anyone out there taking this combo? Is asprin a good idea to add to my current mix of joint supplements? Your thoughts, please.

Why are we still talking about glucosamine and chondroitin when the results of so many studies have shown so little benefit. It would be one thing if it were the only natural supplement. There are several other types of natural supplements that have shown much better results in testing than glucosamine and chondroitin have. Omega 3 fatty acids, cetylized fatty acids and tumeric are much more effective supplements for treating inflammation and pain associated with osteoarthritis. Tom http://arthritis-symptom.com/
