i HAVE HAD SOME SUCCESS USING Lecithin with bipolar and noderately depressed patients. The Lecithin, at 3600mg to 7200mg, in divided doses throughout the day seeems to increase mood and spontaneous playfullness. I used Lecithin and Borage Oil vegetarian patients who did not wish to take fish oil.The results seem similar in my small sample. Scott Freile,D.H., Ed.D. lpc Spring Tx

you have to supplement to get adequate intake of choline and inositol. you'll never reach adequate intake through food sources alone. don't be fooled by the list of food at the end. the highest food sources of choline are egg yolks and beef liver but even they aren't high enough mg of choline for the amount Dr. Weil considers a daily adequate intake. wheat germ and soy foods contain only moderate amounts of choline. nothing near the 825 mg suggestion. only trace amounts of it can be found in the other food. supplementation with egg lecithin or soy lecithin is best.

#3, Choline is a b vitamin. RDA stands for "recommended daily allowance." It's a joke. The RDA is set too low in most cases to make us unhealthy. You have exceed the RDA in most cases if you intend to live a healthy life and not be dependent on a plethora of pharmaceutical drugs in your life.

#11: I haven't heard that they have stopped gingko biloba in the US. When did this happen? I know that it is said to act like a blood thinner like vitamin E, help prevent strokes and help improve memory. I didn't know of any side effects. I wonder if the alleged side effect was that it interfered with the purchase of too many pharmaceutical drugs. As far as I knew, the vitamin was completely safe.
