Exercise and Diet. No pills, no quick fixes. Just start a routine combining cardio and strength training. Strength training is the key because muscle yields to a higher metabolism. Also, I would suggest having your body fat % measured using calipers, not the hand held machine. you will be amazed at how different the numbers can be. body fat % is a more accurate measure than BMI.

I noticed throwing in some vegetables and fresh fruits helps keep you from gaining weight from stress. So a tip if you are stressed out or having alot of issues and dont want weight gain to add another issue is try incorporating some fresh fruits and vegetables into your meals and you should be fine

I'm totally the opposite. I cannot eat when I'm under stress. I think it's because my stomach is in knots and food just does not digest right. I smoke cigerettes more, thank goodness I do drink a lot of water otherwise I'd dehydrate myself and I clean everything! Stress just sets me off to being a very nervous person and I have to be moving about. I do have a sleep disorder because my mind is always thinking, twirling, I toss and turn which is why I have to take a sleeping aid every evening in order to sleep. Not good.

Watch your sugar and carb intake. You would be amazed how fast rice, pasta, potatoes and bread can make you put on weight. I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) recently. I have had to cut out bad carbs completely. With excercise I have lost 10 lbs with in two weeks. I know that is not the norm but I feel great and my skin looks healthier.

omg who takes these surveys? I gained weight because I am happy at my job, my hubby is fantastic, loyal and supportive. I love and enjoy my spouses company even after 20 years. We are rich only in love and happiness but the money is scarce. We make the best of what we have and have fun doing it!

Strangely enough, even though I struggle with my weight, when I'm stressed, I lose weight rather than gain it. It seems when I'm happy, I celebrate by eating. I've lost ten pounds over the past three months just by being in a funk. Go figure. Anyone else like this?

Does having sex reduce stress? Isn't it sometimes increase the stress if not very well planned or with the right person? Does staying too much horny increase stress? Is there really any practical way to eliminate stress in this world at all without being braindead or a newborn or dead? Oh I got carried away, the article's focus was weight for stress not eliminate stress. My bad.

Most of the things people get stressed about - myself included - are dictated by different segments of society. Stress is both a learned response, and a choice. There are many things that are not worth being stressed about - things that perpetuate the problem such as feeling like less of a person because you do not drive a fancy car or own a fancy house, wear 5000 dollat suits, etc. I chose not to be involved in those pursuits and I love my Toyota, my T-shirts, Birkenstocks, middle of the road home, and best of all - I don't really care what anyone else thinks. Why should I? Minding your own business works best when it's a two way street.
