    Why have the "pats" reference? That is very confusing. Just stick to the fat grams, or maybe reference the equivalent number of "pats of butter" along with listing the fat grams... what a strange way to put it. Also, those restaurants just add butter as they please -- there's no measuring. I've seen it from working at a chain Italian place. I do hate being fooled by the "it looks healthy" choices that have thousands of calories.

    A pat of butter, it was explained in the article, Liz. But really, it's just a way for the writer to try and make you visualise the fat and therefore think it's "more gross". They're done experiments with this sort of thing to disgust eaters - no matter HOW limited their diets were, even if they were at starvation level, showing them piles of lard, butter, and sugar freaked them out.

    3 pats of butter? I think that eating more than 15 grams a fat a day is not only ok, but probably necessary. This woman is whacked out.
