A great article. This was very informative and did not contain any misleading information, unlike many other articles posted under yahoo health. David Zinczenko's articles are particularly bad in my experience. Mrs. Furtado is actually informing people in a responsible manner. Bravo!

Thank you for the boost of confidence. I just started eating Fiber One Cereal with 13g of Fiber, the Fiber One Cruncy Bar with 9g and the Yogurt with I believe 5g of Fiber. I have lost 2 pounds in the past week and I feel so much better than before I started. I also eat three fruits each day along with all the other healthy food. I just had a physical and the doctor was impressed. with the results. Again thank you....

Dairy which comes from cow's milk has too high of a phosphorus level and so to balance the calcium levels to meet the correct ratio of it with phosphorus the body will actually strip out calcium from its bones. Dairy is NOT the best source of calcium. Broccoli and almonds as well as other plant sources certainly contain more than dairy. The top 5 countries in the world which are the highest consumers of dairy (excluding the very well balanced goat's milk) have the highest rate of osteoporosis. Beware of soy unless it is processed by Sunrider International, a company which uses the Chinese technique. Regular soy is too high in estrogens to eat often. Dietitics and nutrition are not the same.
