I agree with you, Cheryl. My daughter and I dance every day, but not to waltzes. We like the Salsa music to get those hips in action. Enrico Eglasis (spelled wrong) is our favorite. The Latin music really has some great moves, but be careful not to over exert yourself when you are just beginning. One pulled muscle can put a damper on your fun.
My daughter has to drop about 40 pounds and dancing has really helped to give her more energy. She is already down one clothing size in just one month. She is eating properly, too, and staying out of fast food restaurants and Starbucks.
