pollOlo: I gained weight by going to a weekly dance class (ballet) and eating healthy but often. Try eating each of your food groups every meal as much as you can and take a good multi-vitamin. Lots of protein will help build muscles and so will dancing, but also consider weight training on the side. Please remember that even though you are thin, you need to avoid trans fat and unhealthy foods just like everyone else.

What is the game Dance Dance Revolution? How does it work? Is it geared for adults or children?

Have any of you heard of, or tried Zumba?? It is Latin and International dance aerobics. It is fun and effective; and there are classes everywhere especially in Miami, where it started, and in Ohio.

I have been dancing salsa for 4 years and now am instructing. its addicting. when i first started, i lost 10 lbs. by just social dancing because it can be very high energy. merengue also helps, especially the fast ones. i hate cardio exercises like treadmill cause it's boring for me, so salsa fills all of my cardio needs. plus, my social life has expanded immensely.

Great article! My Wife loves "Dancing to the Stars". We're going to sign up for a class, so that we can enjoy it for ourselves. And, was it a deliberate pun when you said "dancing...taps into your creativity"?

This is a wonderful article to see published! I've been doing Brazilian dance for ten years now and recently started performing again. I've already noticed a difference, I feel tighter and leaner. It is SO hard for me to just work out at the gym. Once you've danced with your soul there is no going back to just 'working out.' Try African or Brazilian to really burn those calories!
