I agree with you, Cheryl. My daughter and I dance every day, but not to waltzes. We like the Salsa music to get those hips in action. Enrico Eglasis (spelled wrong) is our favorite. The Latin music really has some great moves, but be careful not to over exert yourself when you are just beginning. One pulled muscle can put a damper on your fun. My daughter has to drop about 40 pounds and dancing has really helped to give her more energy. She is already down one clothing size in just one month. She is eating properly, too, and staying out of fast food restaurants and Starbucks. Try it, you'll love it.

Yes. Line dancing will do the trick. My sister has lost 30 lbs and she loves line dancing.

It might look a little funny if someone walks in on you, but you might try dancing your way through cleaning the house. My weight loss program suggested this and I have to say, when I'm done sweeping, mopping and vacumming, I'm out of breath.

I was a professional dancer for a time. I am 5'5" and 112- I stay that way by dancing. I have trouble KEEPING weight on. I love to country dance best- the two step and triple 2 are great for getting the heart rate up. Line dances improve balance and flexibility, but for exercise value you must do the fast ones. I do some east coast and west coast as well. I also do weight bearing exercises to keep muscle tone.

I'm overwieght, but I found that a video game called Dance Dance Revolution actually helps you lose weight. I lost 2 pounds in 1 day playing that game for an hour, and it does work. I'm continuing to do so on a daily basis, and the pounds will shed.

Try Tap Dancing, its 100% aerobics! But you're so busy concentrating on the footstep's you don't realize your working out! It makes exercise fun and you burn tons of calories.
