squash, and zucinni are also good fall veggies if you dont care for pumpkins. I just tried a new recipe last night with zucinni. It was great. lightly battered in bread crumbs and baked in the oven crispy. Yum yum, zucinni fries. Acorn squash as well as butternut and spaghetti squash are equally as delicious. :9

try this tasty treat with the seeds. Pan roast them in a skillet (cast iron is best) and they kind of pop. Not like popcorn does but they get plump. Keep them moving in the pan. Sprinkle with a little bit of shoyu (soy sauce) for flavor. Add some raisins and I bet the kids will eat them.

Was in Australia in April (Autumn then) and pumpkin was so popular. They used it in soups, risotto, all sorts of dishes. Very nutritious. Very versatile. Couldn't wait for it to come into season here (CA)

Just purchased a 1/2 lb. of pumpkin seeds that were toasted and salted. they tasted so good that I passed up my usual choice of cashews to get the seeds instead. The retailer indicated that the seeds contained zinc and protein. Can you identify the nutrients and percentages of each?
