I agree. But I think raisins are fine as long as there is no activity going on when eating it. Like something that makes him laugh.

I think all of these should be fine as long as the child is sitting at the table under the parents or caregivers supervision.

Popcorn melts in your mouth - hardly a chocking hazard. No raisins? They've got to be kidding. My daughter's pediatrician told me to ignore all the so called 'experts' and not make food an issue with my toddler.

As long as these foods are cut in small pieces and the children are sitting at a table they should not be harmful.....Parents need to watch how thier child swallows too....these foods should be OK!

i could be wrong but i think it has to do with its size. I guess because its so small a child might grab a whole bunch @ once and put too much in their mouth. Or some kids might grab a peanut and stick it in their nose or ears.

but i know that people hold off on introducing peanuts because of a deadly allergic reaction.

I don't know how I survived to be 75 years old! We had little or no precautions in my childhood years. We ate anything and everything, even mud, choke cherries, and skunk cabbage! We ate hard candies, tootsie rolls, root beer balls, gum balls and a multitude of other things. The worst thing I ever choked on was my own saliva going down the windpipe wrong!

my brother stuck a grain of rice up his nose, it got stuck. he survived. I choked on a hotdog @ 9 years old, but I was eating in a rush, so if it were a donut that I was eating, I would of choked on that too.
