I've heard that soy isn't a good choice of protein for people who suffer from hypothyroidism.

It seems there are a lot of nasty chemicals in Soy as well. The benefits and the dangers are ceratinly being looked into in varous studies. Personally (as a man) I'm not that interested on increasing my estrogen intake, and thankfully my body handles dairy well. I would suggest talking with your doctor about your personal helth, before deciding to increase your daily intake of Soy.

There are "nasty chemicals" in 90 percent of the foods common to the american diet. The solution is to go organic, or at least choose soy products that are not as processed as some others. Balance and informed decisions are the best idea.

Yes soy isnt good if taken too much,i have many friends crazing over Herbalife prod which is soy based. Many didnt consult physician b4taking.Over consumption of soy will lead to kidney probs in long run, think about it,where does the excess protein all go if the body cannot push it out fast enough as waste?I never believe in these processed products which can also lead to diabetic type 2.The best for us all is eat everything fresh/organic,moderately and EXERCISE!!Staying healthy and fit is the way to live. Also, many take these so called 'supplements food' and dont exercise. Now thats wrong! We need to sweat the toxic/waste out, stay fit and lean.I am sad to see people are mislead with these processed gimmicks and also trying to make money out of selling these products to others.Well folks,in the end its your own choice. You take charge of your own life.I hope you take charge wisely.Eat variety in moderation and please please exercise.. every input needs output.Remember this.

Soy is terrible for the thyroid and is also one of the most genetically modified crops in the world. Feeding soy to our livestock perpetuates these hormone imbalances - go for free range meat products.

You are right. There are a lotof myths about soy. Tofu, for example, is not a complete protein, but as a white food is congestive and possibly allergenic. Steamed edamame and tempeh are really the best ways to consume soy. Mariana Friedman, Certified Nutritional Consultant

Every comment is talking about how Soy isn't good for you. That isn't true Mom is going thru the change of life and the doctor told her to consume moderite amounts. Soy is like choclate or anything else if not comsumed in moderation it couln't be good for you because your body only need so many minerals and vitamns to servive. And to Nacho lady where were you when they came out and said that eggs weren't good for you, Choclate and Coffee caused cancer and know eggs are good for you, Choclate is good for you and Coffee. IN MODERATION
