    Be careful with those beans.... And the nuts...if you eat too many of them, you could become allergic!

    sounds like anyone who lives and eats simply or who knows poverty probably has been on that diet. Meat only 3 times a week, wholegrain(white flour used to be more expensive than wholewheat;same with brown vs. white rice), eating whatever fruits and vegetables are fresh and cheap, oil instead of expensive butter, no convenience products, and no pastries! It's the common or "poor" man's diet. How can't you lose weight. :-)

    I wish the would stop calling this 'mediterranean diet'..as it should be called 'Cretian Diet" ..

    I have read about the mediterranean diet as I have also read about other diets and food problems. As it is right now, I have to learn more about the mediterranean diet before I can say much of anything about it. Thank you.
