Whatever you eat or drink, the best exercise (doesn't cost a dime!) is to climb stairs early in the morning. To start with say 10 minutes for a week or two, then 15 minutes etc. Of course, dont eat more than usual to compensate for the calories lost due to this exercise....... Calories burnt per hour is about 2500......in fact kilocalories strictly speaking

I am thoroughly appaled as well that an article making claims to be for the purpose of bettering one's health could actually promote the use of artificial sweetners. Yes, I understand that the point she was making is that people often don't realize how many calories they consume through fluids, which is a valid point. But no where in the article does she once mention drinking water!!! That should be the FIRST alternative mentioned to anyone trying to be healthier/lose weight! And are we forgetting the principals of moderation? Yes, drinking excessive portions of juice and sodas is bad for you for many reasons. But having a serving of fresh squeezed juice once or twice a week to me is a FAR healthier alternative than anything artificially sweetened. What I get from this article is that is addressing two issues: How much you consume as well as what you consume. However, I think that the emphasis on the WHAT overpowered the issue of how much. If you have water as the MAJORITY of your fluid intake, then no matter what your weight or health goals, a glass of juice on occasion should never have to be an issue.

Don't any of you have anything better to do? No offense but this is not the most accredited place to be looking for this type of information. So cut the site some slack... If you are looking for more info try going to web md... or get off of you lazy behinds and go to your regular doctor...There is not need to be so hostile. If you do not agree...FINE then state that and your facts for why you feel the way you do and leave it at that.

How is it possible that you advice taking diet soda!?? (you know that diet sodas -as well as most light/diet products- contain aspartame that [copy & paste from wikipedia: Some studies have also recommended further investigation into connections between aspartame and negative effects such as headaches, brain tumors, brain lesions, and lymphoma.[8][9][10] These findings, combined with possible conflicts of interest in the approval process, have engendered vocal activism regarding the possible risks of aspartame.[11][12] The 2004 documentary Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World voices these same concerns. Please, don't spread these things.. It's always better to take some calories than this artificial toxins.. This is a really irresponsable article, Mrs Koch!
