I USE TO STUFF MYSELF ALL THE TIME DURING THE HOLOIDAYS, BUT OF COURSE I FELT VERY MISERABLE TO. AFTER READING THIS ARTICAL, I HAVE TO AGREE ABOUT WHAT IT HAS TO SAY. I HAVE LEARNED HOW TO PORTION OUT MY SERVINGS AND TO PACE MYSELF SO THAT I DON'T GET TO FULL TO QUICKLY. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT GOING FOR A WALK BEFORE A MEAL WILL MAKE ME NOT INDULGE TO MUCH.

shannv715. I feel it will be better to have a walk after meals and not before meals, since a good walk then, can aid digestion also. Elsewhere in this comments column, I have suggested to someone not to use the dining table, but to keep the plate in the hand, have a single serving and eat. This can also limit your intake of food. For a person like me that mostly eats twice a day its hard to keep your favorits away but i learned that small protion at a time does help. I'v been also drinking lots of water lately. Each day i feel more energized. I think if you take your time it will all show better results.

i think the main thing to remember is what food is for, to nourish our bodies so that it can function at it's best. it's not to make us feel better because we certainly don't feel better when we over eat or put on weight. think of your body as a carburator of a car, if you flood it was gas, it won't work, if you put in crummy gas, it won't work efficently. pretty simple analagy but it gets the point across. eat smart and happy thanksgiving everyone!!!

darbydo32: Your comment no.5 is wonderful.Still more exciting and admirable is your comparing the body as a carburator of a car. I am reproducing below a poem which is self-explanatory. The title of the poem is " KNOW YOUR OWN MACHINERY." Here it goes: YOU KNOW THE MODEL OF YOUR CAR,--- YOU KNOW JUST WHAT IT' S POWERS ARE,---YOU TREAT IT WITH A GREAT DEAL OF CARE,---NOR TAX IT MORE THAN WHAT IT CAN BEAR.---bUT AS FOR SELF;THAT IS DIFFERENT,---YOUR MECHANISM MAY BE BENT,---YOUR CARBURATOR GONE TO GRASS,---YOUR ENGINE JUST A RUSTY MASS.---YOUR WHEELS MAY WOBBLE, AND BOGS---BE HANDED OVER TO THE DOGS,---AND YOU SKIP AND SKID AND SLIDE,---WITHOUT A THOUGHT OF THINGS INSIDE!---WHAT FOOLS INDEED WE MORTALS ARE,---TO LAVISH CARE UPON A CAR,---WITH NEVER A BIT OF TIME TO SEE,---ABOUT OUR OWN MACHINERY. One thing that I have found very helpful is drinking a large glass of water before each meal. This will fill you up and in turn help shrink your stomache so you can not eat as much. Now of course you are going to be hungry sooner, but choose a healthy snack to munch on instead of eating 3 large meals.
