LiveClean.com has a discount card that offers discounts and/or specials from participating healthier lifestyle venues. There are 12 categories on the Card and one of them is Natural/Organic Products. Good list of National Online (Internet) Vendors.

Awesome article..You are so right! About the planning your meals point, NutritionPedia.com allows you to research fun recipies with ALL the nutritional values included. Calories, Carbs, Protien, etc...And if there's a food they dont have, they actually donate 10 cents per unlisted food to charity! I feel so good using that site, anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know!

It's getting harder and harder to feed my family healthily. Food prices are out of sight! Organic? Not a chance that's affordable. Even the price of chicken is rising and fish-on-sale is barely doable. It's great when the farmers markets are in season, otherwise fresh fruits and vegs are more expensive. Comparing prices and running around to all the different stores to get their sales is unrealistic for a busy person raising a family and working to make ends meet!

fruit and veggies can be "expensive" so you just need to shop around a bit. By what is in season, it is usually a bit cheaper, like strawberries, in the summer there is a surplus of them, In the fall buy apples and all the time bananas a pretty cheap. Potatoes are inexpensive. Canned Pineapple chunks are cheaper than store packaged pineapple. If you have somewhere like Aldi's you can find bagged salad really cheap and fresh as Krogers. There is always ways to get around the price.

we have 6 children at home and i all think healthy foods are more expensive. i am over weight and cant even afford to buy healthy for my self. it is cheaper for us to buy takeaway and i think this is so wrong.

I only had $28 to spend on food this week. I was amazed i could manage it. Tobies traditional oats for breakfast. For lunch each day I eat a tin of beans (butter, four bean mix, lentils) with some tined pink salmon and a frozen selection of brocolli, sweet peas. Boring but budget met!

We clip coupons and USE them every week! The part about the local farmer's market being cheap...is absolutely false! If anything the farmer's market(s) in and around the Chicagoland area are very expensive, and although the produce and fruit is very fresh and good, you can get burned [the cheap or sale products are sometimes just bruised and/or a few days old but still look pretty good!].
