#5,#10:Good alternative. It's safe to use and it's the best sugar substitute out there. It doesn't get a lot of press but it's the best one to consume.

These comments would be a lot more helpful if you could keep the stupid hippie conspiracy nuts from adding their 2 cents worth. It's hard to find a genuine answer when you have to sort through their ridiculous crap.

Just because the FDA approves a product, does not mean it is definitely safe. These artificial sweeteners are "chemicals" which are affecting the bodies and health of anyone who takes them. The FDA will probably not ever be willing to reveal these facts.

I'm diabetic. What else are you supposed to do? Can't use sugar or honey. I've been using Splenda for years with no side effects. I guess you chance risks with everything you do, like breathing!!!

I'm tired of hearing all these food disclaimers. Everything these days causes cancer and death, and we're told to be fearful of everything. Sugar is fine if you don't have diabetes, but be reasonable with it, don't go out and have pasta and garlic bread with breadsticks to start, it's too much! Moderation with everything is the key.

That article sounded like an advertisement for artificial sweeteners to me. Maybe people who are trying to lose weight should avoid anything artificial, including preservatives, enriched flours, and dyes. The whole food approach has worked for me, along with moderation in what I eat and moderate exercise.

It is irresponsible to inform people that artificial sweeteners are safe in any amounts.
