Split my order? Are you serious? That's why she gets a a menu in the first place. She can take the leftovers home or walk it off later. Unless we're ordering something like a pizza, the woman is not getting any part of my order. Good grief! It's mother's day! Splurge a little.

My family and I are getting together to have a dinner at home for Mothers Day. We are bringing covered dishes. If a person watches what they eat everyday, then why shouldn't they be able to eat what they want on Mothers Day? Low-fat yogurt on Mothers day? Please! I hope to enjoy a big, fat piece of chocolate cake. For Mom, anything she wants.

You must be talking about the mother that's eating alone. Nobody in their right mind would stand for this.

Why are you heading out to a buffet if you need to keep your diet on track? Like anyone needing to diet will load up on fruits and vegetables. I just can't believe you would recommnend splitting an order or ordering just an apppetizer. Not on Mother's Day. People can go back to fretting about their waistlines or pretending to fret about their waistlines the next day. Don't make an issue about it on Mother's day. Just relax and have a good time hanging out with your mom. We're getting everything. The appetizers, the entrees from the menu, a bottle of wine and anything else she wants. She can walk it off the next day when she gets back to her manic exercising routine. She can also dig into the dessert that I make for her at home: dark chocolate brownies with walnuts and chocolate frosting.
