When it comes to fast food and food court fare, there is no such thing as good. It's all bad and mostly ugly...very ugly. Even the "low fat" options are loaded with artificial preservatives and chemicals that are toxic to your body. And that "whole wheat" bread served at subway, isn't really whole wheat. It's mostly enriched bleached white flour, sugar, and artificial junk with just a pinch of whole wheat. Educate yourself! Don't be fooled by misleading information!

Seriously? Which Mexican restaurant chain deep-fries their nacho chips in lard?

This is the way to see it, rather than eating at the mall, eat before you go. I mean, shopping for clothes or whatnot is why you went in the first place, the food court as I see it is only for complimenting the experience of being there, easy mall revenue. But just because it's there doesn't mean you need to eat there. Fast food is unhealthy so much of the time it's better you only eat it once in a while, rather than looking stupid trying to make it healthier as you talk to the person at the counter.

For Chinese food, white rice is actually better than "brown" rice. Most Chinese restaurants call it "brown rice" after they stir fried the white rice in vegetable oil, soy sauce, and various other ingredients.

I would rather starve than eat a veggie sub on wheat bread with no mayo or cheese. What is the point? How many of you would eat steamed vegetables with brown rice for dinner? Doesnt that negate the fun of eating out?IM not saying to eat the most calorie laden thing out there but I will get cheese on my sandwich or a tiny bit of mayo rather than eat it dry..I had weight loss surgery and I found I can have those little things and still be ok as long as you dont do all of them or put it on an inch thick..I wouldnt use a single one of those suggestions..I would rather have a dry celery stick for dinner.

its called life Im not sure why some people even have a kitchen they dont use it if you eat at home you do save money , you can control your weight better eating out is ok once in a while but some people have takeout every night, for me that would get old real quick.now if there is only two of you then somtimes it maybe cheaper to eat outbut i love to cook even if it is only for the two of us sometimes, healthy food is not take out/ But then its just my opioen Advice for NO# 5 if you are only 21 you are to young to be worrying an sad go out and have some fun /and I dont think 50 or 54 is old LIFE IS ONLY STARTING.

What is so terrible about being hungry? Do people really expect to control weight and NOT experience hunger? I lost 50lbs in the course of 7 months and was hungry quite often. It is an adjustment and works itself out over time. It did not take a week to get fat... it will take more than a week to get back in condition or at least slim down. The advice in the columns written by this person don't do anyone any favors. I don't understand why she gets paid for this. I am going to go on a diet from her blog... her advice is silly and contrary to what she apparently is trying to advocate.... healthy people?

What is Nutritional Immunology? Nutritional Immunology is a relatively new science pioneered by E.Excel's founder, Dr. Jau-Fei Chen. It studies the close relationship between nutrition and the immune system. Dr. Jau-Fei Chen's research shows that consuming healthy foods strengthens the immune system; a strong immune system can defend us from most illnesses. Nutritional Immunology emphasizes consuming natural, wholesome foods for good health and does not endorse consuming chemically processed foods. This science surpasses the study of basic nutrients essential for survival such as vitamins and proteins. Instead, Nutritional Immunology reaserches on how antioxidants, phytochemicals and polysaccharides etc help boost the immune system. Nutritional Immunology emphasizes "prevention over cure". It could be too late to search for a cure after we fall sick. Diseases can be better prevented if we provide our immune system with proper nourishment daily. -----ABOUT SOY------ Soy is high in protein & contains no cholesterol. Soy isoflavones can reduce serum cholesterol levels and help prevent coronary heart disease. Soy also contains several phytochemicals that have anti-carcinogenic properties. In addition, soy isoflavones have proven to be effective in the prevention of osteoporosis. It also contains a tetrapeptide that can speed up fat decomposition to aid in weight management. In addition, soy alleviates menopausal symptoms. Compared to animal proteins, plant proteins such as soy protein are more easily absorbed by the body. Plant proteins provide the body with essential nutrients but with less fat & fewer calories. Besides, soy rich in phytochemicals to effectively boost immune functions. The American Diabetes Association hails soy as the ideal source of protein for diabetics as soy does not burden the kidneys. Soy protein is a plant protein. Hence, it does not contain any animal hormones or fats, making it the healthier choice. To know more about Nutritional Immunology, you may contact me at russdyesquierdodm@yahoo.com.

I enjoy making my own Chinese Stir-Fry at home. This way, I know what is in the food I am eating and I know I am not eating deep-fried chicken. Try to use low-sodium and low-fat stir fry sauces. Also, for dieters, you CAN have salsa and tortilla chips, the chips are low in fat and the salsa is fat free!!
