To: eraikotcha, Yes, unfortunately, it is news to many ignorant people that can't seem to put two and two together. So, you have to spell it out like as if you were talking to a five year old.

Dear Cheryl Koch, you're in journalism? She talks about how fattening coffee is yet she uses the example of a strawberry candy creme whatever drink. These hidden calories aren't in coffee, they're in coffee flavored milk shakes.

most of us drink coffee as an energy boost. caffeine has its benefits and downfalls. but sugar can bring down that boost, as we all know. so skip the sweet and heavy cream. thats common sense.

I often enjoy a venti soy vanilla latte in place of breakfast once in awhile. It packs about 270 calories and, if you drink it slowly and enjoy it like you're supposed to, it can keep you filled up until the next meal time.

i prefer soluble coffee instead of a regular one. Or maybe a cappuccino it is more tasty but probably has more chemicals. Whe have to admit that anything that tastes good contains many chemicals.

Being new to the fitness/health scene - I wonder about my coffee drinking. Love it. Drink it all day long. Wonder how defeating it is to my efforts. Don't do starbucks or others - just a regular cup of coffee, two sweeteners, and flavored creamer (hazelnut and the like). Anybody know how much damage flavored creamer causes to staying trim? Very interested. Thanks for the article.
