Dear Brenda, I want to comment u on your achievements this far. I am 47 years old been over weight for over 35 years of my life two years ago I did something. I change my life style, I am on no diets or shake drinks I did this total on my own. I top off my weight at 407 ponds. Today I weight in at 279 my goal weight that I want to be is 200 lbs. I wanted to do it in two years but am short going into my 3rd just don’t get depressed is all I say. Tell your story to others, and be an encouragement to others, that’s your true blessings. When I a achieve my goal I will write a book and tell the world it can be done. And by the way I did mine without starving myself or fad diets and no exercise so far. I will have to introduce that soon to get down more I have plateau for months now. But never give up the hope. Hang in there friend I know you can do it. Your friend Steve

Wow! That's great that you have lost thirty pounds good for you. I am eighteen and I started dieting between my junior and senior year in high school. I lost 44 pounds in about 3 1/2 months also. But I wasn't eating healthy which explains my 14 pound gain in about one year. But I have started dieting a second time only this time I am going to do it in a healthy way. I started at 240 pounds dropped to 196 and now I am back up at 210. My goal weight is between 160 and 170. You have been a great inspiration. Joey

the best thing that works for me is to schedule a time each day for the following week that you are going to go to the gym or exercise and going with another person helps too. Scheduling a time and going with another person really makes you have to go to the gym. When you go to the gym don't just go with the flow, really challenge yourself and fatigue your body because that is the only way and fastest way you'll lose weight for sure. Weightlifting also helps tone the body and lose weight.

My current weight is 130 lbs, and I'm 18 years old, but every time I try to loose weight, it just never really happens. I'd like to weight 118-120 lbs. I've been starting runing about 1.5-3 miles a day. What would be the very best thing for me to do to loose the extra 10-12 lbs?

Muscle weights more than fat. How tall are you? I am 5'5" 49 years old and 124 pounds. It is okay to weight 130 if it is mostly muscle. No alcohal. Cut our all processed foods and anything white. No Cow dairy which depletes your calcium and can cause heart problems. Eat lots of fresh vegtables, fruits, and legumes. Brocolli is really high in calcium. Eat no beef, fried foods and avoid all saturated fats. DRINK at least one ounce of water for every pound you weight every day. I cannot stress water enough. Make this a life habit. I eat non gluten rice bread, food For Life brand. It is really good. The book Healing with Whole Foods is very good and can be found online. I just got a used copy and it is great. It is a matter of a healthy life style. Once you say "NO" to the food that robs you of life force you will atoumatically become lean. Your colestoral and blood pressure will be good too. Another major thing is avoid SUGAR. Sugar is the worst!!!!! Another great book is Alakize or Die. I think a firm body at any weight is great. My grandaughter said at the age of five "Let's walk so we won't be thin". I asked why don't we want to be thin? She replied "thin is one straight line and who wants to be one straight line"? Attitude is everything and the most attractive thing is self confidence. If a skinny girl and a girl with and extra 20 pounds were in the pool wearing swim suits and the bigger girl held herself as if she was proud and the skinny girl was timid. The bigger girl is way more attractive. If they both are confident then it is just a matter of personalities. Both are beautiful. Insides matter most. Good thoughts your way. I am 49 and learned the hard way.

Dear Sleepymonstr, I find it helpful to fill up on low calorie foods. Nutritiondata.com is very helpful in identifying these types of food.

Dear Sleepymonstr, Your husband did not leave you because of your weight. Do NOT EVER believe that is why he left you. I'm 5'4" and 150lbs and very volumptous. I used to be 125lbs and gained weight due to meds and struggle to get it off. In the meantime, I try not to let it get me down. I'm single and 30 and am not as skinny as I used to be. But I've accepted I'll never be "skinny". Back to you, 5'5" and 155 is perfect. Your husband left you because HE has issues, not you. Love yourself - all 155 pounds! Best wishes to you. I hate to hear when I woman is mistreated by a man. We always blame ourselves. Join a self help group or try therapy to help repair your hurt self. Good luck!

Hi, I have changed my eating habbits depending upon my food diary that I maintain each day. I just do not feel energized and lead a stressful life. I was going through certain articles on herbal dietray supplements and thought of consuming them from now on. Do you think that taking Herbal Dietray Supplements like Seasilver should fulfill the essential need of vitamins and other nutrients that the body needs. I would like you to visit the following articles and drop any comments to let me know your views. http://www.tblog.com/templates/index.php?bid=HealthAnalyst&static=1969809338 and http://www.tblog.com/templates/index.php?bid=HealthAnalyst&static=1969786496 Thanks

I am 5'5" and 50 lbs and in no way consider myself to have a "weight problem." If your ex seriously left you because of your weight then forget about him! His priorities are whacked. I would like to lose about 15 to 20 lbs, but it is a long-term goal and shouldn't make or break any relationship I have. Losing weight for others never works, it has to be for youself and on your terms. I'm sure you are a beautiful woman, and he is missing out on someone great. Marriage is about love, not looks.
