I am an advocate that there are many natural ways to lose weight, feel better about yourself, etc. I am not overweight, but have many friends that are. I have introduced them to a natural way of losing weight and feeling better, more energy, less appetite, etc. If you have a few minutes look at this website. www.tni.com/1964046 and see if something natural might help.tadrhodes@sbcglobal.net

The surgery is of course not right for everyone. I personally have to be careful about anesthesia. Why? I have sleep apnoea that I managed to self-diagnose. Not all anesthesiologists know how to handle sleep apnoea patients. Worse, many obese people have sleep apnoea, so approach with caution. You may have it and not even know it! You may have to be intubated while fully awake and unsedated prior to the surgery. Sleep apnoea is one of who knows others things that could result in problems. Ask the docs first! If it's not for you, there is the old fashioned way, where you EARN IT. I lost all 65 pounds I lost the old fashioned way. It's not easy, but it can work. I've done it over 2 years and I'm still losing. I'm doing something right. :)

I just can not belive there are still such ignorant people around like lilpris and mick_turbo. To say that weight loss surgery is a 'Cheap option' and an 'easy way out' just high-lights what a very stupid and un-educated person you are. If you were of normal intelligence you would have taken the time to read recent research being done by doctors far cleverer than you or I which shows that some people are much more strongly pre-disposed to obesity than others. Test have shown remarkably high levels of insulin in severley obese people that cause higher levels of fat to be stored. It is due to this chemical and hormonal imbalance that some people become very overweight.(that is a very simplified account of the research for the simple people uot there!) I find it amazing that some people assume that if you are fat, you are also stupid and greedy. Not as stupid as Lilpris though! Come on people, wake up and smell the roses. People once thought the world was flat!!! Remember. Is it so utterley inconcievable that obesity may be a diseaes like arthritis or parkinsons due to the body producing too much of certain hormones and not enough of other complex chemicals. I for one am much more open to that idea than the veiws held by Lilpris and many thlousand's of others. I would just like to inform you Lilpris that weight loss surgery is not an easy option...or cheap for that matter. The dangers involved are real and costly, But unfortunately the dangers of obesity are far greater. I also wish to inform you that once you have had your stomach stapled and over sewn as in the formation of the fobi pouch for instance, you are not ever likely to gain weight again due to your stomach being a 1/3rd of its origional size! Secondly how dare you be so judgemental to assume that fat people do not know the difference between healthy and un-healthy foods. I would bet my life on the fact that most obese people know the calorie content of most foods due to years and years of struggling with food on a daily basis. I suggest that in future you think before you speak, take some time to find out the medical facts and refrain from causing more hurt and grief to people who's lives are already increadibly hard and sad.

I was about 100 pounds overweight and was only 5'3" tall. I had the Gastric Band surgery (lap-band). It's not as restrictive as the Gastric Bypass and you have more flexablity with your weight loss. It was an outpatient surgery, and laproscopic. I have lost 85 pounds in 2 years. I still have to watch what I eat, but have to take all the vitamins required with the bypass surgery. I just take a multivitamin in liquid form (not bad). My insurance paid for the surgery. It was the best thing I ever did. Also this procedure is easily reversible. I recommend it to anyone. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I am a 26 year old female who is being considered for gastric bypass surgery. Thank you for this article. It has relieved a little of my worries about this surgery. I have chronic back pain due to my extremely large chest size of 42 I and I am 285 pounds at 5'4 1/2. I have not been very happy. I am 130pounds over weight according to the doctors and cannot have my breast reduction surgery until I lose the excess weight. I run the risk of being diagnosed with type II Diabetes, High blood pressure runs in my family and overall, I am just genuinely horrified. I don't like the way I look. I am often depressed about it. I seem to gain weight with each workout that I have tried. I have even paid for a personal trainer who was suppose to give me some nutrition and guidelines for a diet plan and it was basically not a success. I followed my workout and diet plan to a T and just found that I continually gained wieght. I went from 235 to 265pounds in three weeks and was told that I was just building muscle. Not what I wanted to do. I have tried pills, fab diets as well as tapes, even Billy Blanks and online help. My body just seems to be ready for these things and will usually become use to the diets and working out and taper off after about a month or so. I just have a no win situation. But thank you for this article. This was very helpful for me and my fight to lose weight.

Take a look at www.tni.com/1964046...go to the trim 40 plan. It does work for most; it might not be for every single person in the world, but it can help.
