That first one is by far the most important in my opinion. Having done it myself during my freshman year, I realize how much I have benefited from changing course. This is very good advice.

I'm a freshman in college, and these tips are pretty good for advice. It's not just the general remarks given, this tells about some things people never really think about.

I'm 18 and I'm in my 3rd year. College was quite hard for me when i started at 16. It was a good experience though (freshman year)

So true! If they listen, they may not be having to go back to school in their 40's like some of us in my classes!

Working as an Assistant Registrar at a university, these tips are essential for every college student to know, and every semester I see a multitude of students fail out of school pursuing a major that does not suit their interests and abilities. An interest in science does not make you a doctor, but it might make you a good teacher or nurse. Personally, I recommend that all high school graduates spend at least their freshman year at a community college to take exploratory courses that will ultimately give you a foundation needed to settle on a major.
