Very interesting article. By the categories you've listed, I'd probably have to put myself in the overinformed user. I often listen to talk radio over the internet while I search for information hour after hour. Time can slip by me before I know it.

When it comes to the internet I try to limit what days and how much time I will sit at my desk, but I'll admit there has been some weekend days that I have been so enthralled with one website having to do with photography. To my delight I can enjoy it as long as I want and take a peek at photos taken of flowers; fields; animals, indoors or outdoors (my favorite are the dogs); mountains; streams; sky, with different weather conditions; buildings; houses. I can go on and on. What fascinating and beautiful photos people (professional or amateur) take. It is a capture of the moment, a memory for it's time. Thank you God I can see and enjoy your beauty in this way shared by others;;;; As far as blogging is concerned, Patrick, your entries are the main one I may respond to. I like to learn from what you may say and what others have to share. I also read some news articles but may take them with a grain of salt (and pepper, LOL), as some are certainly quite slanted;;;; Gee, I better get going, I'm in the middle of "End of Summer Cleaning" (my way) this weekend (no Spring cleaning for me). I'm waiting for Fall (starts 9/23/07?). Have a safe week everyone!

Well Patrick you had em scooped for awhile on the big corporate internet sanctioned blog sites about lying Politicians and Principles last year, but it looks like Google is going to take the lead with tracking politicians and lying. Of course the weak kneed description Google is using for lying Politicians is "inconsistencies in the public pronouncements of political leaders." which is a political statement in and of its' self. LOL.. This will be great!! for the "Over Informed"? user. I personally don't think a person can be "overInformed".--http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/15/wgoogle115.xml

As given as we are to self indulgence and lack of discipline (me included), the Internet can present itself as an addiction like many other forms of escape. Fortunately I have this antiquated machine that refuses to cooperate more than once a day or every other day. Apparently it can count and simply crashes when it feels like it. I don't care because the broader effect of the Internet on all of us has yet to be determined. Is it necessarily all to the good? Maybe; maybe not. Screen reading and all the information out there (much redundant) will never replace (in my view) the magic of written words on paper.

I will say this. I'd rather be an overinformed internet user than uninformed or misinformed. People who don't go to many different sources to check out something can be easily misled in what they're thinking. I'd rather read something in several reliable sources than once in the first unknown source that I come by. I'll take my chances being accused of being overinformed.
