I have tried both Vitamin K and Hylexin to get rid of my dark circles. Neither worked for me. I have used Elizabeth Arden's Prevage for the last 4 weeks, and my eyes are quite a bit lighter. Hopefully, over the next few weeks they will lighten up some more.

aloe vera gel or edible Vit. E is great on clean skin. Also, glcyerin/rosewater. I've noticed that most of the higher priced spreads all contain glcyerin - so I decided to purchase that.

I use hydroquinone as an under-eye lightener. Poly-hydroxy acids from NeoStrata or Exuvience may help. Use with sunscreen.

I've been using ROC for awhile now and both my wrinkles and undereye circles have improved.

You forgot to mention smoking. My undereye area lightened up significantly when I quit!

That was not-at-all helpful. You gave causes, but not really how to get rid of the problem (which was what your title promised). Vitamin K doesn't work. Sunscreen can prevent, but won't get rid of the darkness, and that only if it's melanin that's causing it. You didn't really address how to get rid of them at all. If the title is 'getting rid of darkness under your eyes' it would be helpful if the article gave info on how to do that, instead of simply inviting commenters to weigh in (when the advice in comments is dubious at best and may or may not be helpful).

Dark circles under eyes can be reduced if not totally cured, by applying a drop of milk cream under the eyes and massaging- of course lightly- helps increase of blood circulation in that area. You can also apply a mixture of cucumber juice and a drop of honey for the massaging. This will surely help the problem, but should be done regularly

I am Indian, and I get dark circles under my eyes every morning. I just use Olay Age Defying Eye Gel to soothe my eyes and then put on a brightening undereye concealer like the blue Origins eye stick or Benfit Ooh La Lift. No amounts of cheap or expensive creams are going to do anything for my under eye circles, but my eyes look bright and fresh every morning.

Although I thank you for helping me save money by not purchasing these items that don't work, this is not what I was expecting from this article... not so helpful :(

I have seen my dark circles disappear when using products by an American company called BeautiControl (online order only). Their eye products contain Vitamin K, E and retinols...AND MORE! You don't have to spend a ton of money using their products and they are just as good, if not better, than what your doctor will sell you! I have seen my friends use the products and get the SAME dramatic results. BeautiControl also sells eye pads containing witch hazel & cucumber oil...this product is amazing if you wake up with puffy "party eyes."
