I have noticed that you need to be very careful when putting it on and make sure you really apply it evenly because you will end up with streaks but i have tried Jergens and Banana Boat and they both work great

why does the result of self-tanners disappear a week or two after the last use?

the tan disappears because it's only coloring the top few layers of the skin. as your skin naturally regenerates it sloughs off. that's why you need to keep reapplying it. after you have your desired color, daily to every other day should be sufficient. I've also bombared my skin with it when i need an emergency tan and it works - apply 2 to 3 times a day.be generous so you apply evenly. and if you have spotty areas, gently rub with a washcloth (not your fave, it could stain) also, pat yourself dry after a shower and use old towels, the color will rub off. I use jergens firming. i really like it, plus the firming makes your skin feel great! good luck!

I have been using self tanners for a Very long time. I put lotion on my elbows and knees to keep the self tanner from getting to dark. The place I have found my self-tanners at and only buy from is www.tanforless.com Happy self tanning

I've used sunless tanners for about 3 years. The best by far is "Fake Bake" lotion. It gives you a natural looking brown glow. However, don't use the Fake Bake Mousse. It will turn you green!

I've tried many different self-tanners in my time and I've found that Dove Energy Glow is one of the best. You apply it just as you would regular lotion and it has a nice "lotiony" smell to it.

I like Loreal's tan towels. you just rub them on your skin. tip: when drying after appling don't set your arms down or bend your knee and arms you end up with streaks and white spots.

i like using self tanners too, but Mystic Tans are the greatest. i know the article said it might be bad for you if ingested, but that's why you're supposed to hold your breath for only a short 5 seconds. Its really not that bad. plus, it gives you an even, streak free coverage that you cant get when applying lotion at home.

Does anyone else have a problem with the awful after scent? After it's been on me for a few hours I get this odor that stays until you shower again and it will make your sheets and clothes smell bad too.
