The most IMPORTANT thing here is NOT TO GET SUNBURNED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Here's to summer! :)

The reason people get sunburned to begin with is that they are not eating the right EFA's like Vitamin F that exists in certain foods. As a nutritional based physician I put people on a protocol so they well never have a burn to begin with....only a golden tan no matter how white they are.

I found a great remedy with Arbonne's Glow with it. It literally takes the burn away and leaves you with a nice tan. Not to mention that it is all natural! Big boost

White vinegar cut with water also helps to take the sting out of sunburns. I like to put ice cubes in it to make it feel even better. Just soak a wash cloth in it and lay it on the sunburn and the sting will start to go away. Only negative is you end up smelling like a pickle. :)

Green Tea is a miracle worker. I had a sunburn so bad I felt like I was going to die and then I put green tea on it and it stopped the itch and also caused the srea to tan!!!!

These are very helpful suggestions but the best of the best, at least for me personally, is rubbing real aloe.... straight from the plant, all over your burn. It soothes and it also keeps peeling to a minimum. I notice that when I use pure aloe my burn turns into a tan the next day. That is saying a lot since I have very fair skin and burn pretty easily.

Does any of what is stated really work (scientific studies to back it up) or is it all just anecdotal "old wives" tales to fill some space on Yahoo? If so, were is the proof? It is my understanding that once you have a burn, the damage has been done and what you are describing is just comfort remedies that may just be mental and placebos.....

What a stupid article! Where do they come up with these things? i'm disapointed in the syntax and diction used. It was quite immature, but the tone was condescending!

I don't personnally think that these were helpful to my bad sunburn, but the Sun defense after sun aloe, HYATT REGENCY KAUAI works great if you go to Kauai
