Hooray!! Now kids can get into the back seat of the car, mix some stem cells with a six-pack and, conduct their experiments with a clear conscience. Miss takes are convenient and erasable things of the past and, no one needs to have themselves and their values corrupted ever again. Welcome to the utopia we had to build despite the many setbacks of radical dreamers and their incendiary devices, where life should be expensive and technology cheap!....... We return now to our regular scheduled programming of reality, where hard truths are coyly embedded into cartoons overlooked on the Editor's page...

If you don't like the idea of a plan B, then don't use it. :) Now they need to make a pill, for those of us who are infertile so that the sperm enter the egg. Its so hard for infertile people to get pregnant, but easy (not easy emotionally but physically) for pregnant people to get rid of it. I guess I'm all for plan B, I just want them to work on Plan A.

In a way, Plan B is a bad thing, but it is also very positive. People will always misuse medications, look at kodine or vicadin. At least the option is out there for women. If she is raped, she doesn't have to worry about getting pregant. If a condom breaks, the two people need to talk about it first. This will also cut down on unwanted pregnancies and people seeking to have an abortion. Plan B is a more concentrated form of the birth control pill; it does NOT terminate a pregnancy!

something too many people do today hop into bed with the first person they meet. creating the need for plan B, I feel that if more people, both men and women would wait a little while, to see if they are going to be compatible then there would be far less need for the pill.

mikelinep, # 2, I don't know much about it, but have been reading for quite awhile about fertility drugs. my guess you would have to talk to the family dr. am not sure if you could even take them home, possibly you would have get injections. think about talking to the family Dr. see if these meds are right for you.

I know what my problem is and why I can't get pregnant, There is just a process. You need refferels, a dr. to say yeah your infertile. shots, apt, apt, sperm in the cup. Even to take pills like clomid is a process. YOu need to begin taking it like i think on the 1st day of your menstrual cycle for five days. Time the sex on the right days. You get my point

mike #2: It sounds to me like you're already on the infertility rollercoaster. I was on it for 2 years, partly 'cos we took alot of breaks to process what was & was not happening. My only caution is don't use the ob/gyn, go to a reproductive endocrinologist. I know many success stories - I hope you will become one. My heart goes out to you.

i am actually thrilled that plan b is out there! you know it would be nice for people to wait before "jumping into bed with the first person they meet" but reality is that we live in a society where values and morals are differnt do each person. i am glad that young women such as myself have another option. a tragic event happend to me and changed my life forever if only i had the oppurtunity to use something like plan b my life would be different today. i dont regret anything but i am glad the option is out there for others

mike: I have a good friend w/ PCOS who had her 2 kids using Clomid. I have 2nd friend w/ PCOS who tried metformin to lose weight, but she couldn't stay on it 'cos she was too sensitive to the side effects. The 2nd friend is now trying to conceive so she is dieting but I don't know if she's gone on fertility meds yet. I've heard of some ppl having luck w/ accupuncture, but I don't know if they had a diagnosis or were unexplained infertility. hugggggs to you girl!

PLAN-B,,A good idea here and everywhere .One must see the anguish in the eyes of an unwanted child , to make a proper judgement on the issue or see the anguish in the eyes of a young woman who has just had an abortion. I agree with Miss Rustormi2 it is about time . Thanks to those who made it all possible ! RANGERS LEAD THE WAY !

i think it is good that they sell the pill but even if someone 17 or younger knows someone over the age they can buy it for them so it really doesnt make a diffiernce

Ooooo. I've been called a name, a starfish nonetheless! How will I ever survive. Speaking of survival, Robert, I was sorry to read about your cancer. Best of luck to you with the chemo, my son when through it and it can be so hard. Plan B is overdue and now that the FDA has approved Guardisil and Plan B things seem to be heading in the right direction for women's sexual health! Post Nicely!
