It is truly sad when Our Teen girls are so uneducated about sex and their bodies. Are we still living in the dark ages? Why are these girls Mothers and Fathers not educating them enough to know NOT to drink bleach under ANY circumstance! That is redicuelas (awe you know what I mean). It's just stupid for parents to hide the truth to shelter their kids, because all that does is send them into bad situations without proper knowledge.

"1 in 4 Florida teens believe that drinking a capful of bleach after sex can prevent HIV and that a shot of Mountain Dew can prevent pregnancy." I think you need to double check your facts for accuracy, specifically the age group that you are referring to.

When the topic of sex came up with my kids........ I told them this..... If you don't want to remember the person for the rest of your life and/or you don't want to possibly die from having sex with the person......Keep your clothes on !!! To the point...... No joking !!

i totally agree. abstinence-only programs are only making the situations worse than they need to be. *dont get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with abstinence, but it shouldn't be the only option out there. there's kids drinking bleach for crying out loud!

Holy crap! OK, yeah, I can see how drinking bleach would prevent pregnancy: you don't get pregnant when you're dead! The problem is that people wait too long to talk to their kids in general - teenagers? Too late! They are not usually going to listen to "the talk" then, one way or another. You have to start when they are younger - like 7 - because that's when they are already hearing things on the schoolyard, the bus, at friends'... Don't think they don't...

LOL!!! Smoke some bongloads, take a shot of bleach to clean things up, and have a Mountain Dew chaser???? Well, the Mountain Dew chaser sounds yummy ( especailly if you have to lap it up with your tongue, Ha !!! ) I can't belive teenagers in Florida are relying on these methods. I have to call Bullsh!t on this one. I give them more credit than that. You can't stop the horny from "doing it" though !!!! My word of advice for birth control is not to think the guy can pull out before he cums. The pre-cum can get you pregnant !!! Know this boys and girls because it is true !!!!!.........and girls...don't fall for that line from the guys where he asks you if he can only put the head in....you know where this is going to lead to..LOL!!! and for God's sake...DON'T DRINK BLEACH !!!!! Smoking pot and playing with Coca Cola or Mountain Dew won't kill you but drinking bleach WILL. Enjoy sex and remember pregnancy happens and so does STD's. Be careful but you don't have to go into all or nothing thinking and become asexual. You can have sex and enjoy it.Be responsible and you will live longer. Talk to your kids before they are teenagers....and kids, Don't Be Afraid To Ask Your Parents About Sex !!!!!! If they are mature parents they will discuss everything and anything you need to know.

yes!!! i completely agree. i'm against abstinence only teaching because it just disagrees with basic biological nature, but i definitely feel a combination of both abstinence AND teaching responsibility for those who choose to not to wait is a great idea.

Thank you for unfurling safe sex as an option for teenagers. I believe abstinance-only is not the right way to teach, we all know we were born and all the bids and the bees and these trends of ignorance due to none or not enough teaching- that 50% of informed peole were less likely to have a baby than non educated teenagers. Thank you for caring.

There IS such a thing as safe sex: it's that which occurs between a married hetersexual couple and thus forsaking all others!
