Although this subject may be touchy, no pun intended, it is neccesary to get the correct information out. Not ALL parents are willing or knowledgable to inform their children of the important correct information. I am a firm believer that knowledge is power. In this case, power to protect yourself from STD, that are, and can be life altering.

We've come a long way baby... NOT??! This should have been settled decades ago when I was a teen, but sometimes we tend to go backwards where sex ed is concerned! When parents and schools just teach "abstinence only".. (or don't educate kids at all about sex) they have no other recourse but to turn to other kids to get educated!!. When I was young, the Urban Myth was: if you shake up a bottle of coca cola and spray it in the girls "down there" after sex,she will not get pregnant!! LOL Sounds pretty crazy.. but I know of girls who did it!!! And it might be safer than drinking bleach!! (although anything sprayed with force into the vagina can be dangerous so maybe the bleach and Coke myths are equally dangerous and they both leave you ripe for pregnancy!)

I think religion is the problem, since some people tend to get confused about their religion when it comes to sex. The bible and sex education are two different things... one has nothing to do with the other. The bible can help a person with their moral beliefs, but it is not a manual for Sex Ed.

That is the most ridiculous think I have ever heard. What comes to mind is the kids giving absurd responses to the polls. Nowadays kids are smarter, they have access to information we did not have and they are pretty saavy on using it. Truth is, as teenager one thinks: "That will never happen to me", therefore they are careless.

Liberals always point the finger at abstinence-only programs saying that they don't teach other methods besides abstinence - which is completely untrue. They teach that abstinance is the best method but teach about condoms, etc. The liberals never tell anyone about the success these programs are finding in the U.S. and Africa. I was taught abstinence until marriage while my two other best girlfriends weren't. They both ended up pregnant out-of-wedlock by losers while I married a wonderful man and don't have to worry about supporting a child by myself. The truth about safe sex is: there is no safe sex.
