I agree with this story. No matter what or who you are, when you commite a crim such as rape, you should be punished even if you are working for the law. It's morally wrong and in the end, judgement will come to you. Oh,class and/or race,it does not matter if "your an urban homemaker.." or such, all women deserve respect.

There is another way to look at this issue. The prostitute sells sex for money in violation of the law. She has an option to buy freedom from arrest by providing her services to a policeman free of charge. She stays out of the clinker and in business, plying her chosen trade. So who is the victim, here? Nevertheless, any police officer who accepts bribes or any other favors to look the other way when a crime is being committed should be sent to prison.

Any police officer who so grossly betrays the trust that we citizens have given...should simply loose his job. I would consider this person worse then the 'John' that hires and pays a prostitute. By his lawless and exploitive behavior he tarnishes the reputation of the Police Force as a whole, not just himself. Any individual who hides behind his bag while exploiting others doesn't deserve to be a police officer, ...in my opinion. Sincerely, Theresa (Terry) McKay

Good point Dr. L......I know this stuff happens all over. Cops drink and drive too and don't get punished for that either. The cops have sex with the female officers too. Same way in prisons. The correctional officers have sex with the inmates and also with the oposite sex co workers.....most of them married. I have plenty of stories from right here in my town too.... This one young lady wanted to become an officer. She became a dispatcher so all the guys talked to her. They told her she needed to go out on the beat with them to see what goes on out there. Next thing you know she is laying on her back on the hood of a police car. Someone saw these officers in action and reported them.LOL!!! She lost her job and her reputation in this town and decided to move away. Another story is about the ride along program we had here. You know......where teenagers get to ride along to see if they want to pursue law enforcement as a future job choice. Well anyway....this married , twice her age, respectable officer was having repeated sex with this teenager for quite a while. The young girl liked it but was still underage and influenced by an authority figure. Probably been abused by an authority figure before. After she was over 18 she got mad at him for some reason and reported him. LOL!!! She had clothing with evidence. His secretions on them. It made the papers and everything. Her parents thought this man was so nice. He would drive her home and pick her up and so forth. He was fired but I know he was protected from what should have happened to him. He should have been put in general population and let the prisoners take care of him.He got probation and had to find another career. With prostitutes people think that it is no big deal cuz they are used to it. But I know that most prostitues were abused by an authority figure when they were young and when someone with power over them ( an authority figure ) wants a sexual favor they are re-traumatized ( same as rape ) due to the power the officer has over them. They feel they have to please the authority figure to avoid worse things that could happen to them. They feel threatened by ALL authority figures because they were threatened in the past. Every prostitute was abused before becoming one. I think they feel their worth is strickly physical but they get a sense of control in what they do. They feel in charge of what takes place.....until a cop wants a freebie. Then they feel abused because THEY WERE ABUSED !!! Anyone who has sex with an authority figrue ( teacher, parent, aunt, uncle, doctor, councelor, ect. ) will feel sexually abused ( raped ) after the sex is over.....even if they are the one who initiated the sex !!!!! These cops don't even have to tell the prositutes to do it. If the prostitute unzips his pants and he doesn't stop her, he is still guilty of the sexual crime he is allowing to happen by taking advantage of his authority and he should be punished accordingly.

Another reason they should just make prostitution legal. The people in the profession could be better protected, and not just from the police. It sometimes is not the prostitutes "chosen trade" in fact it's fairly common for the situation to be in part or in whole not by her (or even his I assume) will. If it were not illegal it woud make it easier for these people to seek assistance, and free themselves from such situations. It really is sad, the type of people a job in law enforcement can attract. I think rather than being held to lower standards, they should be required to set an example to the rest of society, by keeping there behaviour in check legally and morally. The consequences for not following th e laws they are supposed to enforce, should be more severe than they often are. If caught they should at least be removed from their jobs, and not this whole "with pay" business. The rest of us done get paid time off for commiting crimes why should they?

Prostitution automatically brings with it all kinds of terrible behavior from all kinds of males. If a woman chooses to become a prostitute, she is automatically looked upon as an instrument of gratification by predatory men; even policemen. Corruption has invaded all elements of society, law enforcement not excluded. If remaining a prostitute is so important to any woman that she is willing to be "blackmailed" into sex by law enforcement, that is her choice, and certainly the word "rape" does not apply. She willingly gives herself over to the "man in charge" for the protection of her illegal activity. She becomes a "prisoner" by her own choosing. No sympathy.

17...have you ever heard the saying "there but for the grace of god goes i"? I hardly think that anyone chooses to be a prostitute because it is glamorous, most do so because their lives have offered them few other options. in a lot of cases, these women were abused as children and never taught to value any part of themsevles, especially their bodies. it must be so sad to be a person who can have no sympathy for others who are not as fortunate.
