I hope they come up with a bunch of new cures before I hit menopause. My mother had a hellish few years.

Try bioidentical HRT...It works.....Susanne S. wrote a book on it...it is compounded just for your specific needs....plus it doesn't have danderous side effects like synthetic HRT..It restores your hormones and helps prevent breast cancer....

#6... the surgeon said the shot would help my "nerve trouble"... he didn't say it would help the hot flashes... But after reading this article, I'm hoping the shot will help with everything!!

#3.. BoB.. I think it usually starts in the mid-40s for most women... but I'm sure it varies.. you shouldn't be too afraid of estrogen cuz all it takes is very small doses to keep it going if you do it early enough (BEFORE menopause)... I plan to use SOME estrogen... and I want to know more about the creams. I hear they have less side effects than taking it orally. They help ease symptoms and also helps the skin to stay young looking (loss of estrogen is BAD FOR THE SKIN!!)... sooooo that's my plan!!! so far!! LOLOL (I could change my mind any minute though!! LOL)

Giltee, the first thing I thought of when I saw "shot", was a shot glass filled with your favorite numbing libation. I don't understand what the hot flashes feel like. Since I'm always cold in Chicago, I thought I would look forward to having them.

I am on the backside of menopause, and after doing my own research of just what HRT was, I opted to go with the flow (no pun intended). HRT is pregnant MARES urine thus the name prempro, premarin etc. What part of taking horses urine in any form good for women! Women be aware and your own advocates for your health. Research premarin mares via internet and you'll see for yourself.

#12.. Thanks Dr. B... I want to see if the shot my doctor is recommending is the same one Dr. Lipov is using. (My doctor did say it was a "nerve block" to stop the pain and it also stops nerve inflammation which means it doesn't just "mask" the problem.) It will feel good to have some knowledge of my own about this procedure!!
