You neglect the case where the mother doesn't want the epidural. I was a big fan of natural childbirth, but even if that hadn't been the case, I can assure you that *no one* was going to stick any giant needle in *my* back.

Epidurals cause major complications and are one of the reasons the USA has the highest infant mortality rate than any other industrialized country. Natural childbirth is the was to go. Doctors scare women to death about natural childbirth only to disempower them and turn a beautiful childbirth into a medical procedure. Injecting poisons and cutting women open left and right. Does anyone else see the problem with this? God help us. The medical system is causing major problems in this field. Is it any wonder why OB/GYN have the highest malpractice rates with annual premiums around 150,000 to 200,000 dollars. People are getting hurt...lots of them.

I am due to deliver in about 3 weeks, and have been seriously considering an epidural. This will be my fourth birth, the first three natural, two of them induced. My last birth 10 years ago was very painful - I tried the same childbirth techniques that worked before, but could not stay on top of my contractions, ended up yelling, screaming, and refusing to push, then resented my beautiful newborn daughter afterward. I have researched all of the possible side-effects and other forms of pain control and relief, and have come to a conclusion: if I need it, it's there. If I don't, I won't. Every pregnant woman needs to educate herself on all medical treatments and options, and make decisions based on the facts!

I had an epidural, and I'm glad that I did. I consider myself just as much of a Woman than people who decide not to have one. My baby weighed almost 9 lbs, and my labor lasted almost 28 hrs, I needed a little help. I don't regret the epidural, and it has never caused me any kind of problems.

I'm positive I contracted Herpes from a one night stand with a friend. I've been tested for other std's and all is ok with those. I've done all the reasearch so I know about HerpesI guess I'm looking for men who have had a similar experience. I came across a support section like some herpes dating support site. That forum is the best I've found and people would answer your questions by all means. I've felt so much better since I found it. Thank you so much http://herpesmates.com
