I think the protein is way too low...also the fats. Babies eyes and brain start developing early on and they need lots of good healthy fats...

This was very helpful. I, too, am pregnant, and I wish that I'd come across this information sooner!! Oh well, I hope "better late than never" still applies here. I keep hearing how well and healthy I have to eat. Well, just what the heck is "well" and "healthy"? The website that the article leads you to, which is posted by the USDA, is most informative. I've printed up proposed guidelines for me, based on the info I entered, and now I have a go-by! I definitely recommend this to everyone!

Let's not forget that not all pregnancies are created equally! Some of us cannot eat what we're supposed to. It took me 11 weeks before I could start eating healthily again.. and these types of things just make people like me feel guilty that we're doing the wrong thing, while the doctors say just eat what you can and don't worry, it will all even out! It has! I'm no longer throwing up every time I eat a vegetable or a piece of fruit!
