I would do some research on those ingredients if I were you. Aspartame is a sweetener that may be causing your blood sugar to rise. It's really not a good sugar replacement; several side effects. Phenylalanine is also harmful. Working in the organic industry, my rule of thumb is if I don't know what's in the finished product I shouldn't be buying it. "Acesulfame Potassium"??!! Seriously!? That doesn't sound good. Based on the listing you provided I don't see any nutritious value in there whatsoever. - My two cents

MALTODEXTRIN IS ALSO A SWEETENER BUT I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT CONSIDER IT AS THE REASON FOR YOUR BLOOD SUGAR RISE. CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN OR A DIETICIAN IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS. THAT MEAL REPLACEMENT SOUNDS LIKE A CHEMISTRY PROJECT YOU ARE DRINKING. THERE IS NOTHING REMOTELY NATURAL IN IT. TRY OPTING FOR MORE NATURAL PRODUCTS, THERE WILL BE LESS SIDE EFFECTS AND IT IS BETTER FOR YOUR BODY.

This is helpful. I think. Basically, it is a discussion based on the RDA of all the necessary elements of a meal. I would be more impressed if the blog entry contained brands or specific products to stay away from or others that come with a full recommendation. It is like going to someone for advice about what is healthy, and them telling you to be a good label reader. That is exactly what this blog entry did. So- yeah this is helpful. But I think anyone with a random book of the shelf at any store could have written the same thing. The writer wasn't looking to sell themselves as someone who had a lot of knowledge on the subject.-

I agree with Lebev. I, personally, don't eat the bars to lose weight. I only eat them once in a while when I am short on time and my favorite is Tiger's Milk.

Shaklee has a wonderful protein shake called Energizing Soy Protein (Vanilla or Chocolate). I swear by it. It contains 110 calories, 10 grams of fat, NO CHOLESTEROL, 10 grams of carbohydrates, 9 grams of sugar, 14 grams of protein, and other necessary vitamins and minerals needed. Anyone interested can contact me at 920-922-4068.
