Appealing in its clarity and simplicity....I have found that Olive Oil is a welcome and delicious alternative to trans fats. Eating with a fair amount of healthy fats often cuts down on the sugar cravings or other impulse excesses. Fruits are terrific but if "sugar" management is an issue then more vegetables will help with that ....every day I don't have at least a small fresh salad is a day I feel cheated.

Ah, Yes.. Pretty much all common sense to me. However, if you don't exercise, not sure it will keep you healthy.

I have been fighting cholesterol for 5 years now when I started this diet I was 1200 on the scale (Total Cholesterol) after 4 years the meds did not help get me lower than 500 . I saw a steady drop in total Cholestrol after begining the Mediterranean diet and now am down to about 235 total and my good versus bad have turned around to the good! This realy works Thank you

I want to eat more fish but am consistently barraged by negative reports and I don't know what to buy anymore. Aquaculture is destroying our environment, the seas are overfished, mercury contents of popular fish are at high, dangerous levels, etc, etc.

I love Mediterranean food, especially olives, fish, and fruits and veggies. I'm not a big meat eater anyway.

I have been following a diet near the Med-diet, the Flat belly Diet. Only problem is they will never respond to my emails about questions and do not have a number to call. The book has alot of question that need to be answered. Thanks Nancy Griffin

The Mediterranean diet is practical and time proven. You might also want to look at Japanese cuisine as well

I pretty much follow this diet. I do limit red meat. I do Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It is the best. In moderation of course. Nuts. Fruits, Veggies. Brown Rice. Baked or Grilled Salmon. Love it. I exercise every day.

This is one of the best "no fuss" ways to get your good fats up and your bad fats down and not feel so restricked on your diet!
