How about opening up the conversation with "Hello." And following with, "My name is ------." What does that say about a man?

Best approach I have experienced: A woman took my basket in the supermarket produce section ("mistaking it for her's") two aisles over. I followed her just like a little puppy dog..... we both laughed over that one. Then I had to return her broccoli after she left it in my basket. Clever lady.

Oh and remind your friends to not leave a message on your answering machine. A friend once left me a message that was heard by a new girl I was dating. He said hey Pencil #@$(. And after that she thought of me as that stupid message ..It didnt last long. She was like ok hmmm does he have a pencil ^&*%

There is a great book on picking up women on Amazon. Also those chemical pheromones work well, don't you think? I knew one guy who used to ask every girl if they would like to fr--g? He got slapped a lot but also got a lot of strange stuff if you know what I mean?

Ok like it or not, like you said a guy has but a few seconds before he is cast into her hell,or raised to her slight flicker of a chance at her so well guarded heart. I can't see what the fuss is,if a woman likes the way you look, and the tone of your voice It's on. Dress well, grume, and make that first line your last, cause it just very well may be.

Commenting on ones accessories only shows superficialness and that one cares only for material things. Complimenting on something that can not be purchased shows real intelligence and fullness.

Ask; Are you wealthy? They always respond by saying, WHAT? Then I always say, I have always wanted to date a good looking rich woman. You already passed the first test. Then they say if they were rich I would never find out! Believe it or not, that really gets them thinking and talking. Then I always say that I'm just kidding! But it works!!

Can you speak on a woman's "opening line" or the way she hunts for a man that can take her away like calgon, in other words women prey on men they think can take them away from the troubles that surround them, or they can land a man that's financially set and end up having a baby with him and be set for life (or for a while anyway). I thought love and romance revolved around what women want. Can you talk about what women what and the not so innocent, benign, naive, spontaneous and by chance ways they use their "opening lines".

Dave, Have you noticed that women generally think your articles are great and men are offended at having been so concisely encapsulated (like a dietary supplement in place of a real meal)? You are clearly writing for us and it is great to have a "spy in the other camp". Nice work!

Another uninformative article from Mr Dave Zinczenko. Yes, an overwhelming portion of men don't approach women they find attractive for fear of rejection -- but his comparison of it to an American Idol audition is simply FUD mongering. I can't believe he's diparaging joke telling. Guys who crack jokes and tell funny stories are people everyone, men and women alike, want to get to know. It's never a bad idea to be outgoing in social situations, and doing so doesn't seem like desperation to anyone. I think women would much rather spend time with an interesting jokester, who's the life of the party than with some guy playing 21 questions.
