I really enjoyed reading this article. I can tell just by the conversations me and my guy have had prior to reading this article as well as him saying he's definately ready to settle down, I am on my way to being engaged. Even though it hasn't happened yet. I know that once it does me and my guy are on the same page. Knowing the presented facts about each other really reassures me that we are both ready for our future together. Which is also a big stress reliever. So thanks.

Here are the things men look for: 1. Someone who needs him. Trust me on this. Most men are insecure. Insecure men need needy women because this makes them feel needed and a hero. Most men do NOT like independent women because they feel that these type of women don't need them. They're wrong, but that's beside the point. Now, these same men will admire an independent woman, even be attracted to her. Even asks her out. But like Post-Its, the stick doesn't last. Unless he's a wimp or a gigolo who needs to be taken care of, the he-man is gonna go for the girlie, deferent cream puff who dreams of babies, reads People magazine and gossips with her girlfriends on the phone. 2. A woman who makes him feel warm and fuzzy all over -- like Momma. Oh yes, ladies, read these over and again. If a man even remotely likes his mother, and you remind him of Momma, BINGO! He's all yours. It doesn't matter if you have a mustache, BO, overlapping belly fat, bad teeth or wear sensible shoes. Looks are waaayyy down the list with this guy. 3. Women who let him wear the pants in the family. Even if he can't balance a checkbook, can't paint the house, can't even feed the dog, drives like a demon and spends nights out with the boys, doesn't matter. He's lord and master. A woman who wants to keep her man had better believe this. 4. A woman who keeps him guessing. Games are boring. But it's what he likes. So play them. 5. A woman who's WOMAN. Sexy, sexy, sexy. Just not in front of Momma, ok? 6. A woman who doesn't embarrass him, in public or the bedroom. 7. A woman who puts him down by standing up for herself every once in a while. Not weekly or daily. See #1 for a refresher. There are going to be LOTS of women who'll come snarling for me. That's ok. I'm a Boomer woman who's dated a lot, coast to coast, and now I'm reporting what's out in the battlefield. It's not pretty. But you can't say you haven't been warned. Best of luck to my single sisters.

You should talk about what it takes to keep a woman happy. Speak about what it takes to keep a woman interested. People are always trying to put all the emphasis on the woman. If a man cheats then the woman is doing something worng or if a woman is not married by certain age then it's something worng with her too.

I like the story on what makes men marry, i really like the part on weak and needy, i just would rather a lady know her potenial and go for it. if she just lay back and play the weaker vessel role that's a true turn off to me. if you have no drive then i got to carry YOU!!!. thats not my ideal of two people with drive.

"It's the all-in-one woman who can equally pull off the roles of wife, mother, boss, friend, neighbor, vixen. That's not asking too much, is it? That's not asking too much? What do you guys do, then?

You say: "It's the all-in-one woman who can equally pull off the roles of wife, mother, boss, friend, neighbor, vixen. That's not asking too much, is it? After all, if a guy is going to commit for a lifetime, he'll want his partner to be able to react to a lifetime's worth of challenges and opportunities, right?" Is the wife not also giving up freedom and committing her lifetime? What can she expect in return? Lunch with an old flame is OK? After all that attention and conversation would be much more enjoyable for her than, say, the practice of oogling strange men in the street. How would you describe the "all-in-one" man? Or do women just need to be satisified with a couch potato?
