Ms. Bauer, I had a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy and Bilateral Salpingectomy in 2005. Since my surgery, my weight has ballooned to 230lbs. I stand 5'2, age 49. I also developed Hypothyroidism and taking Levothyroxine currently being readusted. I have sleeping difficulties and hot flashes and not a candidate for HRTs family history of breast cancer. I have inverted the food pyramid eating a high-fiber diet with fresh fruit, chicken and fish and use EVOO. I enjoy fat free skim milk and am a chocolate lover. My physician has advised to stay away from sugar, anything white, white bread, white rice, potatoes eat sweet potatoes. And if this weren't enough I have had several hernias post operatively currently I have a ventral hernia to be repaired. I wasn't healing well so they recommended my gallbladder to be removed the best surgery to date. I don't want to look at myself in the mirror my body image is horrific. I need your help. Please advise me. I saw the woman on the today show who lost 100lbs, wow! I want to be that person, not who I am. Marcia
