You should still try and get some type of exercise in the day. Even if it is just walking for 30 minutes. Living a sendetary lifestyle will only shorten your time here on earth.

hmm, while low-carb dieting may be a quick way to shed pound, you are twice as likely to gain it back, not to mention the fact that cutting carbs too far down is also harmful. just thinking out loud

I find protein is the most important factor if in sports nutrition if you are trying to build muscle. A good protein supplement is essential to you training program if you are a serious athlete. A good place to start when trying to get in shape is to cut back the portion sizes of your meals, by in taking less you will begin to see a change in your body composition. A wise athlete will do whatever it takes to make sure they stay healthy for every game; the more you eat right the better you will perform. To determine how much protein, carbohydrate and fat your body requires is best determined by calculating how much your ideal body mass is to your height to weigh body mass… http://www.worldwide-sport-nutrition.info

Cereal, eggs, soup, salads, turkey sandwich, steak, vegetables, fruit, yogurt, that all sounds like normal eating to me. Makes me wonder what all the complainers eat.

All of you mean spirited commenters should stop reading this column if you don't need any help. The recipes are well thought out and posted as a nice suggestion. If you can't say anything nice...don't say anything

I think some of you missed the point of this article. It happens to be a 72 hr. get back on track plan. Lean protein, veggies, fruit, & good fiber from grains---what's so gross or unhealthy about that? Thanks for the article & the sample menus- gave me some great ideas for sticking to healthy choices during the Holiday Crunch.
