I use a steamer basket in a two quart pan. I put brown rice under the basket which absorbs the water (with the nutriants). Great taste, and no waste.

It sounds like an ulcer which they have now proven to be treatable with a two week antibiotic, there goes the myth that people think they have to live with an ulcer and spend hundreds of dollars on antacids. Sounds like you should see a doc

Myth 1 does have some truth, calories at night have a greater chance of not being burned and therefore being stored as fat, especially if they are carbohydrates Myth 2 even fruits should be eaten in moderation as excess will affect your insulin levels and ultimately effect you ability to lose weight...fruit is great, but everything in moderation Myth 3 you body typically craves what you have a food allergy to, not in the sense of anaphalaxis but those which can cause leaky gut, and other gi problems no dispute with 4 myth 5 does have some truth to it, grapefruit does actually lessen the bodies resistance to caffeine, therefore you can benefit from eating a grapefruit if you are drinking coffee, therefore increasing its thermogenic effects, not sure about cabbage sorry to sound like a spoiler....

As far as I know, digestive process itself requires some energy and the amount of calories needed to digest foods like celery, is more than consumed, so eating celery helps to lose weight. However, I agree it doesn't actually burn fat.

clue13, eating celery won't help you lose weight if you simply add it to whatever else you normally eat! But if you eat it *instead* of something else that has more calories or fat, then yes, you will loose weight because you are reducing calories and fat. (What's true of celery is also true of many other foods - any time you eliminate calories and fat, you are making the type of choice that is going to help you lose weight in the long run.) And you should drink plenty of water every day! Many people who drink water before a meal feel that they eat less because the water helps fill them up. However, it is not healthy to drink water as a substitute for eating balanced meals for a week! Your body needs the nutrients from healthful foods to work properly, and in fact, starvation diets are a very bad idea. First of all, your mind and body don't function well without food; and secondly, if your body thinks it is being starved, it will actually begin to store fat and will burn muscle instead! It's always best to diet in moderation, to exercise in addition to changing your eating habits, and most importantly - to consult with your doctor or a certified nutritionist to make sure that you are taking off pounds in a healthy way!

Weight watchers point system has worked great for me. I have lost 30lbs in 10 weeks. I don't buy their food but make some of their recipies. Excercise of course makes it come off faster, but you can loose weight just by following the plan too! GOOD LUCK!

To the person who lost 15 lbs eating cabbage soup, wow you aren't very educated are you. Why would you even phathom asking someone for some information to back up her statments. She is helping out our nation who have a problem with obesity. So how about you use your brain and look it up yourself. Anywa, Yes you can loose weight eating a strict diet of pretty much any food item you want at all the time. But the problem with going on diets such as yours is that you are not getting a balanced diet. So how about you eat the basic food groups, small portions and more often and excercise reguarly and you will lose the same amount of weight healthier and won't have to eat disgusting cabbage soup. So go hit the track or pool if running is to hard on your joints, and eat healthy meals and enjoy life.
